The Garden

The pumpkin.
Tomatoes.
Roma tomatoes.
Jack helping.
The carrots and onion are from thinning.
Jack helping with breakfast.
Yes, that's right, I am a slave driver.
More helping.
Oh boy, hope he doesn't help that tomatoes too early.

Jack and I spent today in the garden, thinning the carrots and onions, weeding, picking strawberries, cutting rosemary for drying, and checking on the tomatoes, pumpkins and cucumbers.

Jack is great help, he is so curious and loves discovering everything. Sometimes I just like to watch him check it all out. He has been really good with the plants, of course now that I say that he will start knocking them over.

Jack is also starting to help in the kitchen. He is really good about mixing pancake batter or just playing with a wooden spoon while watching me. And now that I have jinxed myself twice I am going to wish you all a great day and leave well enough alone.

The hamster we found in our yard.
Jack squeals like a crazy man at the hamster.

Lazy boy eating some popcorn.
Jack and Bear.

The ice cream truck stopped by the other day! Ryan thinks I am a little too excited about the ice cream truck, but it's cool what can I say. So I hear the music and send Ryan out to make sure it stops and run to get Jack. He was napping at the time. But in my defense he had been napping for almost 3 hours, it was time for him to get up. And it was the ice cream truck!

Ryan finished re roofing a couple weeks ago, he is very glad to be done with that. Jack and I have been hanging out playing in the kiddie pool, we have been having some lovely summer weather, finally.

We found a hamster in our backyard yesterday. The scraps of OSB from the roof were piled in the side yard and Ryan was moving them and found the hamster. We put it in a tub and gave it some water and carrots. We have posted our finding on Craigslist and the local paper and gone door to door, but no luck just yet on finding its owners. Jack loves the hamster and talks it's ear off whenever he see it. No we are not keeping it, although if we don't finds the owners soon, Ryan will assume it is ours.

Hope everyone is enjoying the summer!
